Though it hasn’t yet been revealed, it is rumoured strongly in Kollywood circles that superstar Rajinikanth might play the revolutionary Immanuel Sekaran in his next film to be made by Pa. Ranjith of Kabali fame.
Rajini and Ranjith joined hands for the first time in Kabali, which released in theatres across the globe on 22nd July and went on to break many a box-office record nationally. Despite criticism of not being a ‘typical’ Rajini film, Kabali is still rocking in theatres across Chennai and elsewhere in the State after it opened to record collections worldwide and in all the places it was screened.
Rajini’s next film, which is to be produced by his son-in-law and national award-winning actor Dhanush’s banner Wunderbar Films, would be directed by Kabali. Ranjith hasn’t yet met the press after the confirmation about his back-to-back films with Rajini, who has this (working with the same director in back-to-back films) only occasionally in his illustrious 4-decade long career.
It is said that Rajini might play ‘Immanuel Sekaran’ in the new film which hasn’t yet been titled. Sources say that Ranjith, who showed to many among the younger generation the ‘acting’ side of Rajini and proved to all what an amazing actor Rajini is, hasn’t yet completed the scripting process of the film.
