Simbu takes the centre-stage among artistes for feeding the print media with reams and reams of news material thanks first to his love affair with Nayantara, later with Hansika and the many affairs/break-ups he has witnessed in his life in his more than a decade-long professional career in films. ‘Beep song’ controversy which erupted last year has almost broken his friendship with music director Anirudh Ravichander.

His almost non-stop goofing up of his shooting schedules and tiffs with the directors of his films have also been providing news to the print media. Simbu has been shooting of late for Trisha Illana Nayantara (in)fame Adik Ravichandran’s upcoming film Anbanavan Adangathavan Asarathavan in which he reportedly plays triple roles.

A song in the film, penned and sung by Simbu, has a lyric which says “Enna vittuttu vera yaaraiyavadhu kattikkitta konne puduven” (‘If you marry a person other than me, I’d take your life!). These lyrics are sure to irk women’s rights groups and feminists as they indirectly convey a message that a girl/women ought to reciprocate the feelings of love of a guy whether or not she liked him!
