A day after producer-director Lingusamy said that he was in awe of his former assistant director Raju Murugan for making a classic film in the form of Joker, Raju Murugan has said that he had learnt a lot from Lingusamy for which he would remain forever grateful to the latter.
Appreciating Raju Murugan’s work, Lingusamy said in a lighter vein that he knew very well that Murugan didn’t learn anything great from him when he worked as an assistant director with him and added that he should have learnt the nuances of making realistic film from somewhere. Lingusamy even went to the extent of saying that it was he who actually learnt many things from Murugan after watching Joker.
“Lingusamy’s statement only reveals his magnanimity. In reality, I learnt a lot from him for which I shall forever remain grateful to him,” Murugan said and added that he wanted to remake the film in Hindi.
He also revealed that efforts were underway to remake the film in Telugu. “I’m happy to be lauded for my efforts in making Joker; it’s a heartening feeling to be appreciated by those whom I’ve always watched in awe.
“Superstar Rajinikanth had already lauded the film and I shall be meeting him soon,” said Murugan. Communist leader Nallakkannu and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi president Thol Thirumavalavan are among the politicians who watched the film and lauded Raju Murugan’s work.
