An upcoming film titled Edhugai, based on a real-life incident which is said to be taking place from morning till evening, has been shot in a record time of 128 minutes (2 hours and 08 minutes) and that too in a single take!
During the scripting process/stage itself, the crew members had planned in advance to shoot the film in a single take. They had done preparatory work well in advance and had made all the arrangements so as to suit their planned shooting schedule.
Punitham Ram is the debutant director of the film who has also essayed the male lead opposite newcomer Deepika. Viswa, Rajamahesh, Jacob Arun and Podhumbu Mahendra play major roles in the film which has been shot at one go at Varadarajan Pettai near Vridhachalam. Deepa Palanikumar and Ramachandran have produced the film under their banner ‘Lion Pictures’.
The highlight of the film is the fact that 14 Kurals have been taken from the Tamil ‘veda’ Tirukkural from its section on love/eroticism (Kamathupaal) to form the backdrop of songs. Debutant music director M. Ramesh Kumar has scored the music of the film which was released recently at a function held in Chennai.
