Shock for Thanu as pirated DVDs of Rajini’s Kabali are out on Day 1

Shock-for-Thanu-as-pirated-DVDs-of-Rajini’s-Kabali-are-out-on-Day-1‘Kalaipuli’ S. Thanu, producer of superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali which hit the screens worldwide yesterday, was shocked when pirated versions of the film were out on the very first day of the film’s global released.

In order to prevent such occurrences, Thanu had earlier moved the Chennai High Court which responded to his request positively by blocking more than 300 film-based websites which thrived in making pirated versions of DVDs of new films. However, the inevitable and which Thanu and the crew of Kabali dreaded the most has occurred at the place where they least expected to occur!

‘Kabali’ carnival commenced across theatres in the world where the film has been screened in an unprecedented manner, thus becoming the first Indian film to be released in maximum number of halls. Reviews have been lavishing praise on the film and Rajini’s performance is compared to a mix of his performance in his super-duper hit films of the past such as Mullum Malarum and Baashha.

Pa, Ranjith, the director, has liberally sprinkled political/punch dialogues which Rajini utters in his inimitable mannerisms. It turns out that the pirated version of the DVD was made only by a few miscreants who were among the 30-odd Tamils residing in U.S. and who watched the special show of Kabali (arranged exclusively by Thanu for Rajini who is now in U.S.).

The crew of the film is how hoping against hope that the pirated version shouldn’t play spoilsport to the film’s box-office collection which has started on a very high note!
