Actor Vishal in a hurriedly arranged press-meet yesterday has claimed that pirated CDs of his Maruthu released last Friday were also released on the same day.
Studio Green Gnanavel Raja, producers Elred Kumar , Raja Shekar and RK Suresh were also present in the meet. “When we examined the pirated CDs of Inji Iduppazhagi, VSOP and other few films it is found that they were recorded at PVR cinemas in Bangalore Orient mall.
To detect this 54 thousand is spent for each film on the Qube system analysis. We have registered our complaint last week to Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu but no action has been taken. I know that Maruthu’s CDs will be made available from day 1 of release, I am even aware of where the pirated CDs and rappers are from. Something has to be done to decimate piracy” told actor Vishal in the press meet.
“Surya’s 24 and Vijay’s Theri were also recorded at PVR cinemas and we have the proofs for that. Still Kalaipuli S Thanu has not taken any action against the theatre.
We are not criticizing Thanu, even his film Theri is also a victim of piracy. But even after knowing the people associated with, why the delay in taking action is our question. Why can’t the producer’s association withhold films’ release in associated theatre and seek an explanation from them,” asked producer Gnanavel Raja.
