Arun Vijay makes Sandalwood debut as villain in Chakravyuha

Arun-Vijay-4Arun Vijay, the 40-something actor who has been enjoying the best phase in his 2-decade long acting career, is all set to make his debut in Kannada films not as a hero but as an antagonist with a film titled Chakravyuha.

Arun Vijay made a strong comeback in Tamil films by playing Ajith’s villain in Gautham Menon’s successful Yennai Arindhaal which released early last year and gave a new identity to the lanky Arun Vijay as his performance was lauded by critics and fans. He now makes his debut as villain in Kannada films with Chakravyuha which has Puneeth Rajkumar as the protagonist.

Billed as the Kananda remake of the Tamil hit film Ivan Veramathiri directed by M. Saravanan and which starred Vikram Prabhu and Surabhi in the lead, Chakravyuha also marks Saravanan’s debut as director in Sandalwood.

“I have always been fascinated by Kannada films. Though I got a few offers in the past, I kept waiting for a plum offer which I have got through Chakravyuha,” says Arun Vijay.

“Starring in Saravanan’s film is akin to starring in three films at a time as his script and dialogues are very powerful. I’m happy to be locking horns with Puneeth Sir with whom I have a good friendship. Thanks to our relationship, the stunt sequences have come out very well.

I’m also happy that my role is as important as that of the hero,” says Vijay as Chakravyuha released in a grand manner across Karnataka yesterday.
