It appears that national award-winning film-maker Vetrimaaran would take his time in launching his Dhanush-starrer Vada Chennai as he hadn’t been getting enough assurances from the national award-winning actor in respect of call-sheet dates needed to make the film. Vetrimaaran might make another film in between before starting work on Vada Chennai.
Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have formed successful associations as actor-director with Polladhavan and Aadukalam; they also combined to produce award-winning films such as Manikandan-directed Kakka Muttai and Visaranai (directed by Vetrimaaran). It was reported in the press sometime back that Vada Chennai would have Samantha and Andrea Jeremiah as Dhanush’s heroines.
To be made in two sequels based on the life of a real don in North Chennai, the film(s) were to be produced by Lyka Productions.
However, as Dhanush is busy with Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta, Karthik Subbaraj’s new film, a Hollywood venture besides his own Kodi and Prabhu Solomon’s Thodari, it looks like the launch of Vada Chennai with Vetimaaran might be postponed by a few months.
