You might not have imagined even in your wildest dreams that actor Rajendran of Naan Kadavul fame would turn romantic on-screen. Yes, it is all set to happen in an under-production film titled as Yaanai Mel Kudhirai Savaari.
Rajendran, who debuted in the Sathyaraj-Sukanya starrer Thirumathi Palanichamy more than two decades back, came back in a big way with Bala’s Naan Kadavul as villain. He then switched gears and tried out comic and character-driven roles in films such as Pithamagan, Raja Rani, Varuthadadatha Valibar Sangam and Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara.
He now plays the ‘lead role’ – believe it, it’s true – in Yaanai Mel Kudhirai Savaari opposite a pretty-looking girl who is wooed by Rajendran and ‘Lollu Sabha’ Swaminathan as both of them fall for her charms. The rest of the script is about who wins the race and ultimately the girl’s heart. “I play a romantic hero but not the hero of the film,” says Rajendran.
Karuppaiah Murugan is the debutant director of the film who could conceive a script which has Rajendran romancing a girl. Murugan has also penned the story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics in the film besides producing it. Taj Noor has scored the music.
