Anushka Shetty’s period war film Rudhrama Devi is all set to release on October 9 in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi but the Tamil version will be releasing only on October 16. The reason said is that Sri Thenandal Films, distributors of Puli in Chennai is holding the Tamil Nadu rights of Rudhrama Devi.
As Puli has just got released, Thenandal Films believe that Rudhrama Devi can be released only after two weeks and hence announced the new release plan as October 16.
Interesting point to be noted is that if the word if mouth of Rudhrama Devi is not encouraging in Telugu, the business of Tamil version will be largely affected.
Guna Sekar of Okkadu (Chilli) fame has directed Rudhrama Devi and maestro Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music.
