Continuing with Kollywood film-makers’ fascination with titles of films of yesteryears, ‘Jayam’ Ravi’s upcoming film titled Appa Takkaru (which had him romancing Trisha and Anjali) has now undergone a change in its title. The film would now be known as Sakalakala Vallavan, which was the title of Kamal Haasan’s super-duper hit in the early eighties.
Suraj, who has made hilarious comedies such as Padikkathavan, Thalainagaram, Maruthamalai and Maappillai, is directing ‘Jayam’ Ravi for the first time in Appa Takkaru which will now be known as Sakalakala Vallavan.
This is also the first time that Anjali, who is on a comeback trail in Kollywood, is getting paired up opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi, who is fresh from the success of his latest film Romeo Juliet.
Vivek and Soori are the two comedians in Sakalakala Vallavan which is expected to be another hilarious comedy by Suraj. S. Thaman has scored the music of the film whose makers reportedly sought permission from AVM Productions, makers of Kamal Haasan-Ambika starrer Sakalakala Vallavan, to name their film after the popular title.
