Lakshmi Menon, considered as the ‘lucky mascot’ of producers and directors in Kollywood, has her mind clearly focused on what she wants to do. She doesn’t want to miss her status of one of the most sought-after heroines in K-Town; at the same, she wants to continue her studies also.
The lanky actress, whose latest film Komban opposite Karthi has been declared a ‘hit’, opines that she would try to balance her career in such a manner that neither her film career nor her studies are affected. She also brushed aside rumours which said that she was contemplating taking a break from films so as to give time to her to complete her degree course.
“I shall continue to be in films and would manage my study schedule in such a manner that it doesn’t hamper my shooting schedules,” she says.
Talking about Komban for which she earned a lot of praise from critics, she feels it was a very different film from the rest of the films she had done so far in her career. When Muthaiah explained the script to me, he was very particular that I should agree to do the role.
“In the hindsight, I realize what Muthaiah aimed for and am thankful to him for giving me the offer to star in the film. I wasn’t totally convinced that it was a tailor-made role but only when the film released, I felt that I was lucky to have landed up the role.
Even now, I’m getting accolades in the form of congratulatory messages and phone calls for my role in the film. I shall continue to do such roles at regular intervals,” says Lakshmi.
