With the audience becoming more open to stories that are not the usual humdrum, the room for creativity has expanded for all filmmakers. One such new trend in cinema these days, is the plot revolving around a sport. Considering cricket is a religion in this country, there have been notable hits in Kollywood, based on cricket – may it be the evergreen ‘Chennai 600028’ or the recent ‘Jeeva’.
Yet another is on the way, with director Veera’s story gearing up for release. Titled ‘Oru Pandhu Naalu Run Oru Wicket’, the cricket-based story stars Vinay Krishna and Hansika Dutt in the lead. The team launched their audio recently.
At the function, the team took the mic one-by-one to credit everyone’s dedication as a team and also the hardships involved in successful making of the film. Next to climb the stage was special guest Vijay Sethupathi. He let out a statement that everyone works hard.
“Everyone gives their fight and works hard to sustain in cinema. But why make a statement of hardwork? It is common to everyone. It is not an easy game for anyone, ” he said. This visibly irked the team a little, as they had spoken about the hardships they had to hurdle. Noticing this, Vijay Sethupathi quickly changed his line of speech, saying “The film has a unique title, I personally like it. This team seems to be a highly talented lot.” This cooled off the reddened faces.
