Samuthirakani, who dons different hats of actor, producer, script-writer and director, has said that it was high time that the entertainment industry learnt how to deal with newcomers. “They should be welcomed, patronized and we all should learn to continue to travel taking them along,” he has remarked.
His upcoming directorial venture Kitna has already generated great expectations. Samuthirakani, who started his stint in Kollywood long back, has started associating with talented newcomers in the past few years. Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Vimal, … the list of young actors that Samuthirakani has been working with in the recent past can go endless.
When queried as to how it becomes possible for him to align with actors irrespective of their ‘star’ stature, Samuthirakani says “It all depends on our mind-set; it is quite possible for film-lovers. I’m passionate about films and am happy at the entry of exciting newcomers (directors and actors) into Kollywood. Such newcomers are to be welcomed whole-heartedly and are to be patronized by all of us.
“We should learn to travel along with them instead of wasting our time and talking about past glory. There is no better way to take the film industry forward,” says Samuthirakani who has plenty of films on his hands as an actor.
