Popular television anchor-turned-actor Ma Ka Pa Anand has said that the sizzling Priya Anand was his ‘dreamgirl’ and that he was ready to wait for ages to get paired up opposite her in at least one of his films.
Ma Ka Pa debuted in Kollywood as an actor with the recently-released Vanavarayan Vallavarayan in which he played the parallel hero with Kreshna. He is now starring in Panju Mittai as a solo hero and has also been signed up to play the lead role in debutant director Vijayabhaskar’s upcoming film Atti. The bearded anchor follows the footsteps of Sivakarthikeyan, who was also an anchor with Vijay TV before turning a hero.
Ashmita plays the heroine in Atti which also has yesteryear’s hero Ramki in a significant role. Vijayabhaskar, who worked as an assistant director under Siraj in films such as Mappillai and Alex Pandian, turns hero with Atti which is the story of the hero who runs a water-supplying shop at Ice House near Triplicane. An unexpected incident brings a major change in the hero’s life and the script is about how he manages to tackle it using his witty brain. Venkatesh Arjun is the film’s cinematographer.
“I want youths to watch my films but more than anything else, I want all my films to qualify for family-viewing which would rid the films of double-meaning dialogues and obscene sequences,” says Anand and adds that he wanted to pair up badly with his ‘dreamgirl’ and actress Priya Anand at least in one song sequence or in a film. “I don’t want to star opposite frontline heroines but want to improve myself as an actor,” he says.
