Actress Shruti Haasan found time to fulfill the last wish of Sheetal Pawar, a 17-year old cancer-affected teenager, who had been given up by the doctors treating her.
Doctors treating Pune-based Sheetal have told her relatives that her cancer has reached an advanced state and there was no way she could be saved. Doctors have told Sheetal’s family to do everything she wants to ensure that she spends the last few days of her life to the fullest. Sheetal, after realizing what was in store, had expressed her ‘last wish’ to her parents saying that she wanted to meet Bollywood starlet Shruti Haasan once.
Sheetal’s wish was conveyed to Shruti Haasan by ‘Make A Wish’, a Foundation, while she was shooting for her upcoming Hindi film Yaara with Vidyut Jamwal. Soon after hearing about the girl’s wish, Shruti assured them that she would surely fulfill the last wish of the teenager. She secured permission from the director and took a break to reach Sheetal’s residence in Pune.
Kind-hearted Shruti spend an entire day at Sheetal’s Pune residence and the duo talked about movies and many other things. Sheetal was obviously excited at having her favourite heroine by her side for a whole day. Touched by the girl’s liveliness, Shruti appreciated Sheetal’s courage in fighting cancer and handed over to her a personal hand-written letter before leaving her residence late in the evening.
