Few would disagree with the fact that Sarathkumar, actor-politician who is also the president of Nadigar Sangam, look several years younger than his actual age. Sarath, as he is referred to in the industry, recently turned 60 but is playing the hero in more than one film.
His Nee Naan Nizhal released in theatres yesterday (10th October) and he is now gearing up for the release of Sandamarutham produced by his actress wife Radhika.
Sarath gets into his favourite ‘dual role’ mode with Sandamarutham which is directed by A. Venkatesh who has already directed Sarathkumar in quite a few films. Oviya and Meera Nandan play the twin heroines opoposite Sarathkumar.
Radhika, Samuthirakani, Radha Ravi, Thambi Ramaiah, Vijayakumar, ‘Delhi’ Ganesh, Nalini and Mohan Raman are part of the cast. James Vasanthan is the film’s music director.
Sarath has penned the film’s story and author Rajeshkumar has penned the screenplay. Venkatesh has also penned the dialogues besides directing the film. Major portion of the film’s shoot is over, it is reported.
A duet Unnai Mattum Sutha Vachiye, choreographed by Bollywood’s Vishnu Deva and featuring Sarath and Oviya was recently shot in Bangkok.
“It is a typical commercial film with a solid script. The hero is mightily talented, as we all know, and we have plenty of committed actors, actresses and technicians and believe that we have a winner on hands in Sandamarutham,” says Venkatesh.
Sarath refused to be drawn into the debate on the difference in age between him and Oviya and Meera and said that he was only 25 ‘at heart’ which mattered the most.
