Yet another world record is being attempted by a Tamil film-maker. In 1999, a team of more than 10 directors led by P. Vasu and K.S. Ravikumar made the Guinness-record breaking Suyamvaram, wrapping up the entire film’s shoot in 23 hrs and 58 minutes. Now, another film-maker is attempting to make a film in 12 hours, thereby creating a new world record.
Mohan Kumar of Jayalakshmi Movies produces Nadu Iravu which stars newcomers in lead roles. Ulaganathan is the cinematographer while S. Ramesh Krishna is the music director. Pudugai Maarisa is the debutant director of the film who also pens the story, screenplay and dialogues.
The film’s shoot was to commence at 06:00 p.m. on 19th September and conclude at 06:00 a.m. today (20th September). “We have made plans to complete the entire shooting schedule of the film in 12 hours. I have opted for a entire newcomer cast as the film is of horror genre. Such films don’t need established stars. Monika, a small girl, plays a significant role in the film,” concludes Maarisa.
The film’s launch was held at AVM Studios in the city a few days back in the presence of Kayaar, president of Producers’ Council, producer G. Sekaran and director Shakthi Chidambaram.
