You never know when the ‘lady luck’ would smile on you. Trisha, who is in her 12th year in Kollywood and has made a rather later entry in Sandalwood, is mighty thrilled to note that her debut film Power opposite Puneeth Rajkumar has turned out to be a super-hit.
Trisha has starred in many Telugu and Tamil films and has even forayed into Bollywood with a failed venture titled Khatta Meetha. Released last Friday (29th August) in 226 halls, Power is said to have collected a whopping Rs.7 crores in its first three crores, which is a record collection as far as Kannada films are concerned. In Bangalore alone, the film has been released in 50 theatres.
Trade pundits say that Power might go on to become the most successful Kannada film to have ever been made. Remake of the 2011 Telugu super-duper hit Dookudu which starred Mahesh Babu and Samantha in lead roles, the success of Power has rejuvenated the Sandalwood film industry where super-duper this are far and few unlike Tamil and Telugu films.
Tweeting on her Twitter account, Trisha has thanked her fans for the film’s success. Shje has said that she owed her heart-felt thanks to the film’s crew, the Kannada film industry, her friends in the press and to her fans.
