Acclaimed cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa who has worked in super hit and critically acclaimed films ‘Eeram’, ‘Vainnaithandi Varuvaya’ and ‘Nanban’ turns a Producer along with Dr.Sujatha Senthilnathan to fund a film titled ‘Poovarasan Peepee’ that has kids in the lead role. Manoj will also be cranking the camera for this flick.
The films revolves around a group of school going children in a rural town who enjoy their summer holidays playing and having fun with blowing the ‘peepee’ a handmade musical instrument made with the leaf of Poovarasam trees, flying kites and swimming in lakes.
They become witnesses to a brutal violent incident and the rest of the story reveals how they handle the mental agony caused by that.
The makers have assured that the film will be an adventurous flick to enjoy the summer along with family. The film will open a new world to city dwelling kids who are destined to spend their holidays with indoor games and coaching classes.
The music for the film has been scored by Aruldev who has earlier scored for ‘Patta Patti’ and ‘Pattaua Kelappanum Pandiya’. Aruldev has assisted veteran composer Vidyasagar and has worked as a keyboard programmer for more than 700 films.
He has used many unique instruments for the musical score of this film. Gaurav Kalai, Praveen Kishore, Kapil Dev, Varshini and Ahalya are the kids who play the lead roles. Important character roles are played by Samuthirakani, Kali Venkat and Sairam.
The film has been written and directed by Halitha Shameem a former assistant of Pushka-Gayathri, Myskkin and Samuthirakani. The film will hit the screens on May 30.
