Last week paper ads announced that ‘Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah’ directed by debutante Anees and produced by V.Ravichandran of Ascar Films, will hit the screens on May 15. But now the makers have decided to postpone the release.
The reason cited behind the postponement of the release date is that the Producer wants some more time to get the Entertainment Tax exemption granted by the Tamilnadu Government since the film has obtained a clean ‘U’ certificate from the Censor Board.
TEN is a love story that stars Nazriya and Jai in lead roles and it explores the rich traditions and culture associated with Hindu and Muslim weddings. The lead hero is a Hindu boy and the heroine is a Muslim girl in the film.
Though a tentative date of release of TEN is being mentioned as May 23 or 24 it has to be seen whether Ascar will take a risk by releasing his film alongside Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadiiyaan’ that has been scheduled to release on May 23.
