The much-awaited on-screen father-daughter combination is not happening now and would have to wait for some more time. Shruti Haasan and Kamal Haasan, who were rumoured to be starring in the latter’s upcoming film Uthama Villain essaying their real-life roles, may not star in the film together.
Kamal Haasan is gearing up to release his sequel film Vishwaroopam II which had already gone into its post-production stage. His next film would be Uthama Villain would be directed by his friend and actor Ramesh Aravind. To be made as a trilingual affair in Tamil-Telugu-Kannada, the film is likely to feature Kajal Aggarwal as Kamal’s heroine.
Shruti was to play Kamal’s daughter in the film but has since opted out of it citing lack of call-sheet dates. Yuvan Shankar Raja would be scoring the music of the film which would be produced by Lingusamy’s Tirupathi Brothers. Comedian Santhanam gets his first chance to star in a film alongside Kamal Haasan. Kamal Haasan would be penning the film’s dialogues.
Kamal has reacted to Shruti’s non-availability saying that “In some ways, it’s good that she isn’t starring in the film…I feel she needs more experience to handle the pressure of working with me!”
