Gautham Menon In Legal Trouble

13-gautham-menon-troubleGautham Menon has landed in legal troubles after a cheating case against him has been filed by R Jayamram, the director of RS Infotainment. The latter has gone to the court over the profit sharing issue between them.

Upon hearing, the Madras High Court directed the central crime branch to register a case against filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon and four other associates of his production house Photon Kathas, if cognisable offence is disclosed upon investigation.

According to petitioner, Gautham Menon’s Photon Kathas had cheated him a huge amount. The director, who remake his Tamil blockbuster Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa in Hindi titled Ek Deewana Tha, had a deal with them along with Fox Star Studios.

The agreement said that Photo Kathas should invest 25 percent each of the total cost of Rs 11 crore and the remaining amount would be bared by Fox Star Studios. The profit sharing ratio was also the same. But after the release, the Gautham Menon owned company took the 50 percent share without their notice and did not pay their share of 25 percent.

“Madras High Court bench chaired by Justice C.T. Selvam has directed the deputy commissioner of the central crime branch to register a case on the complaint of the petitioner. The police have been asked to conduct investigation in the case and if any cognisable offence was made out, it will be brought to the notice of both the parties,” counsel Ramesh Babu told IANS.
