Strange it might sound but music director Harris Jayaraj has reportedly ‘excused’ himself from scoring the background score of the upcoming film Irandaam Ulagam. The film, directed by Selvaraghavan, has both the lead pair of Arya and Anushka essaying dual roles. This is also the first time in a Tamil film that the two A’s are pitted against each other.
Irandaam Ulagam is also the first time that Selva chose to work with Harris Jayaraj. Selva, who worked with Yuvan Shankar Raja and G.V. Prakash Kumar, roped in Harris to score the film’s music more than a couple of years ago. The film has been in the making for a long time as Selva takes his own time in making his films. The fact that he had taken ill early this year also delayed the project considerably.
Harris hasn’t had a release as music director since the successful Thuppakki late last year. Now that he has as many as four ‘major’ films on his hands, he has reportedly told Selva that he won’t be able to score the background music of Irandaam Ulagam. Selva has now sought the services of Anirudh Ravichander to score the background music; Anirudh is said to have willingly agreed to oblige Selva’s request.
The trailer and songs of the film were released some time back. It may be recalled that the film has already joined the ‘Deepavali race’ and would be releasing in screens on 02nd November.
