Madha Gaja Raja starring Vishal directed by Sundar C is one film that has been lying in the box since pongal 2013. The initial producers of the film Gemini Film Circuits preferred to release Mani Ratnam directed Kadal and take out some earnings out of it and then release the Vishal starrer. But the unexpected huge loss they faced, led to complete collapse of Gemini Film Circuits to the extend that the producer committed suicide.
The fate of MGR was unknown till the time Vishal decided to buy the film and release it under his own banner Vishal Film Factory.
This time around to avoid getting trapped into the problems, he faced during the Samar day, Vishal had ensured to make all the right moves and also managed getting a record number of theatres . But the unexpected was awaiting for him in the form of the financier till two days back.
Financier Madurai Anbu who had lent money to Vishal to purchase the rights from Gemini, has now put a condition release the film only after giving him back the Rs 9 Crores as one time payment. The talks between the two parties in the last 48 hrs have yielded no progress.
The latest we hear is the film might release on Monday september 9 if the financial issues are sorted out.
But Capitalizing on the delay of Madha Gaja Raja is Ramanarayanan’s Arya Surya, which was scheduled for next week will now release on September 7. But the biggest gainer would be Sivakarthikeyan’s Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam which now gets 350 screens on a holiday weekend.
