Rethak Arts has launched its maiden production venture titled Kukulu Naatkal which has newcomers playing the lead roles. As many as seven artistes essaying lead roles are introduced in this film: Srijith Vijay, Harish, Shafi, Arjun, Malavika, Subhiksha and Deepa. Others in the cast include M.S. Baskar, Yuvarani and T.P. Gajendran.
Debutant director Khader Haasan is confident that the film would turn out to be successful at the box-office. “We have named the film as Kulukulu Naatkal as the script is about campus days, which are easily the most enjoyable and enterprising days in a man’s life. Love might be something which is not taken seriously by the boys but it’s not the same with girls.
“Women don’t easily fall in love; however, once they fall in love with a person, they are usually very serious about it and would do everything possible at their disposal to ensure that their love affair reaches its logical end (marriage). There might be a few exceptions but women are mostly very committed about their love affair unlike men who have a very wavering mind.
“In Kulukulu Naatkal, we are driving home this message and as a crew, we have worked hard to feel confident about the film’s success,” concludes Haasan. Utpal is the cinematographer while V. Prabhakar (of Pokkiri fame) has penned the dialogues. Hassan has written the story and screenplay besides directing the film. The shoot has been wrapped up in places such as Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry and Kochi.
