Remember, Teja from the – 2002, Vikram feature Gemini? Or even better, Pachaimuthu from Enthiran. Although, those characters might have given you a taste of his eccentric senses, in real life too noted actor Kalabhavan Mani lives up to his fierce appearances.
Such is the controversy which surrounds him lately, all credit to his gutsy manhandling of police officers, despite an already pending case registered against him that was lodged in 2011, for a similar assault on a policeman. Since Wednesday, the Thrissur police are in search of Mani and his friend, who took law in their hands and punched down forest officials who questioned their purpose on their Athirapalli waterfalls.
Locals say the police were only right in asking the actor to open his car at Kannankuzhi – a village near Athirappilly waterfalls, known for being a center of Maoist activities. At 1 am, when forests officials intercepted the actor’s car and asked him for a check, Mani and his friend, Dr. Gopinath, came out in defiance belting down officers UG Ramesh and T Raveendran, who are presently admitted at the nearest hospital owing to injuries.
However, Mrs. Gopinath who was the witness to the feud says, the officials provoked the men as they abused her asking favors.
