Shruti Hassan, the elder daughter of Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan, has revealed that his father never interferes with her personal matters.
“Appa never intervenes in my personal issues unless I ask him to do so. He wants me to learn through my mistakes so that I don’t repeat them,” Shruti Hassan has said.
Shruti Hassan composed music for Kamal Hassan’s Unnaipol Oruvan but hasn’t concentrated in music other than singing songs ever since. She has done two films in Tamil as heroine (7am Arivu and 3 opposite Surya and Dhanush respectively). None of the films scorched the box-office with its collections yet Shruti Hassan has found success on the Telugu front.
One of the very few actresses who are busy with Telugu and Hindi film commitments, Shruti Hassan reportedly spurned Kamal Hassan’s offer to be part of his Vishwaroopam-2 which is likely to release in July. Shruti Hassan couldn’t allot the dates her father needed to make her part of the cast of the sequel to his highly successful Vishwaroopam. However, she regrets missing a rare opportunity of appearing on-screen along with Kamal Hassan.
“It’s true that I couldn’t star in sequel to Vishwaroopam when Appa asked me to spare some dates. Knowing my father’s nature, I’m sure he won’t regret but would only feel happy that I’m too busy to not allot dates for his film. I regret at missing the opportunity to star along with him, though. He has never advised me and always expects me to learn my lessons from the mistakes I commit(ed).
“As I’m left to think and act independently on my own right from a young age, I have got used to making my own decisions and attempting to solve my problems on my own,” concludes Shruti Hassan.
