Director Shankar’s Nanban has successfully completed a 50 day run at the theaters. Starring actors Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth and sexy legs Ileana D’cruz as heroine, the film has gifted Shankar a Bollywood remake hit kicking off the year in style. Hero Vijay even threw open a party at his resort celebrating the movie’s success, attended by the director and his co-stars.
Thanking his fans who made the feat possible the director said, “Thanks for making it a huge hit. Thanks to all media for the great support.” Actor Jeeva too extended his warm regards saying, “Thanks a lot friends for making Nanban a super success flick. Happy 50 days Cheers! J” There has been a lot of speculation on Director Shankar’s next release. Recently there were talks surfaced on a sequel to the hit Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran titled Endhiran 2. It was also heard that Shankar is planning to rope in Kamal for Endhiran 2. When quizzed about his fresh project, the director responded saying, “As I started working on my next script, I couldn’t be in touch with you. So far I have not finalized anyone regarding the next project. Just working on the story.” Shankar’s Nanban has done exceptionally well in the Coimbatore belt collecting Rs. 5.5 crores, compared to Enthiran’s 8 crores in the releasing month. The director however has asserted that he won’t attempt any more remakes in the future, following his Nanban experience.
