The new decision of Tamil Film Producers Council that big budget movies with A-league stars should be released only during five festival occasions had paved way of hope for the medium and small budget movies. Apparently the makers of Udumban were confident that they can get their movie released by February.
Even the censor board committee members had passed U Certificate for the film. But now an interim ban has been laid on the film as an activist Jegannathan taking the support from Animal Welfare Board has filed complaint against the makers that they have used monitor lizard in the film…
Dhilip Roger, motorbike racer turned actor, who plays the lead role in this movie has said, “It’s true that we used a monitor lizard for the photo shoot, but throughout the film it’s just animated in graphic. Or else how would have censor board committee members would certify the film with ‘U’.
The film was earlier scheduled to hit screens on February 10, but is now postponed due to this issue.
