‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ a take-off on real-life experience: Murugadoss

Director A.R. Murugadoss turns producer with his first production venture titled ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ which hits the screens all over the State on 16th September. The film has been directed by debutant director Saravanan, who worked with Murugadoss as assistant director for many years. A press-meet was held recently in connection with the release of the film.

Speaking at the event, Murugadoss said “The film narrates in detail about how a casual, careless attitude for a few seconds can cause great misery in life. I lost my director friend Tirupathisamy in such a manner who died in a car accident. I was deeply affected by his death and even now it refuses to go out of my memory. The screenplay of the film does have some effects of the incident…the film will not just be a message to the audience; it’s also a very interesting and captivating venture!”

Replying to reporters’ queries, Jai denied that he was in love with Anjali, as reported by some sections of the press. When asked specifically as to what he liked about Anjali the most, pat came the reply from Jai that it was her ‘acting’ skills. The reply sure would have stumped the scribe who posed the question. The same question was put to Anjali as to what she liked most in Jai.

“Though we starred in a few romantic sequences in the film, we aren’t real-life lovers. Jai is a talented actor and is an excellent cook. I liked his cooking which included fish-related dishes. We are just friends. I’m just in my early twenties and haven’t had any thought about love or about falling in love with any one. At the moment, I remain keenly focused about my career,” said Anjali.
