Raghava Lawrence has insisted that he had no tiff with actress Anushka and maintains that all is well between them. Raghava, who started off as a choreographer more than a decade back, graduated slowly into an actor and then became a director and producer. Raghava’s latest film ‘Kanchana’, already declared a super-duper hit by trade pundits, has increased his stakes in the industry to a new height as an actor and director.
“I didn’t have any tiff with Anushka but it’s a fact that she won’t be playing the lead role in my next directorial venture in Telugu,” says Lawrence. ‘Rebel’ would be his next Telugu film as director for which he reportedly sought Anushka as heroine opposite Prabhas who has been selected to play the male lead.
Meanwhile, reports say that he has now gone ahead and signed up Tamannaah (whose Telugu market is going steady compared to her no-film-on-hand status in Tamil) as the heroine. It may be recalled that Anushka was Lawrence’s first choice to play the heroine in ‘Kanchana’ too but the former walked out of the film at the very last moment only to be replaced by Lakshmi Rai who is now reaping the benefits of the success of ‘Kanchana’.
Anushka not featuring in ‘Rebel’ gave rise to rumours that all is not well between her and Lawrence. In this backdrop, Lawrence has now cleared the air with his explanation that “There is no trouble between us; we haven’t had any tiff. It’s an unexpected development that Anushka is not starring in ‘Rebel’. Contrary to what appeared in the press, I haven’t yet signed up Tamannaah as the heroine as I’m yet to finalize anyone.”
