Michael Jackson’s fans moonwalk tribute

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson was not just a pop star. He was a phenomenon, a sensation.

His music rocked, and his unique dance moves awed audiences across the world. From New York to Tokyo, he had fans by the millions, and a major portion of them refuse to believe the legendary singer is no more. As long as his music lives on, there is no death for him.

MJ was not all about music either; he strove hard to help the underprivileged. Through his songs, he tried to alert people to burning issues such as poverty and pollution. Through his words, he tried to make people understand that there is so much healing to be done, to make the world a better place to live in. World peace, to MJ, was more than a catchy phrase; it was an ambition. His death is indeed a sorrow but his life is worth celebration. And that is why hundred of his fans turned up at the Liverpool Station in London to sing his songs and do the moonwalk. With tears streaming down their cheeks, several MJ fans sang his super hits in his memory.

His last days on earth were not his happiest. He was torn apart by the pressure to perform and reclaim his crown, by the scorn and ridicule of naysayers who believed he had turned into an invalid, by failing health and constant medication, and above all, by his insurmountable loneliness. He yearned to get back on that stage and do his last gig. But fate has spirited him away. Let us hope that he finds the peace that eluded him in this world, in the next. God bless his soul. May he rest in peace.
