Big Pictures’ maiden Tamil production Yaavarum Nalam has completed 50 days at the Box Office with a total box office gross of Rs.11 crores in the domestic market with expected lifetime gross of Rs.12 crores.
The bilingual film, whose Hindi version is titled 13B – Fear Has a New Address, is the first Indian film to be released on the same day in two languages (Hindi & Tamil) simultaneously.
Directed by Vikram. K. Kumar, Yaavarum Nalam starring Madhavan and Neetu Chandra was released across 82 screens in India on 6th March and continued to run in all the 82 screens till week 7.
In these times, when the first week collections usually amounts to 60-65% of the film’s whole run, Yaavarum Nalam has proved to be a surprise winner. The film’s second week collection beat the opening week by 30%, thus reaching a new high.
Not forgetting to credit the exemplary work put in by the BIG Pictures Marketing and Distribution team at the grassroots level in Tamil Nadu, which proved the catalytic role that local understanding of the market could play in the success of a a film in regional Cinema.
