Directed by Hari, who had earlier given a string of hits with a range of top heroes in the industry, Seval is the next action entertainer from Bharath and Poonam Bajwa. G.V. Prakash has scored the music.

The first song ‘Kannamma Kannamma’ comes across in Vijay Yesudas and Gayatri’s voices. There is nothing new in the melodious tune. However, the magical touch in Vijay’s voice and the sheen in Gayatri’s tone gives the song a new feel. Manicka Vinayagam’s prelude itself offers sufficient cue about ‘Namma Ooru Nallarukku’. Anuradha Sriram and Tippu complete the threesome for this number which has a remarkable lyrical significance. We have listened to Vadivelu’s tonal ability in parts already in some of his films. But in ‘Thaayaramma Thaayaaru’ he joins Karthik and they jointly deliver a totally enjoyable song that has a strong native touch. Of course, Vadivelu’s characteristic whining is the chief highlight of this song.

After all the fun numbers comes ‘Thulasi Chediya’. Hariharan’s voice performs the glides and glissades in the simple yet charming number dazzling the listener with its reach. Deepa Mariam provides effective support through her clear rendering. Benny Dayal, the most versatile singer, renders ‘Odamarathu Mullapola’. Both the temper and tempo of the song are enchanting.

‘Parvayile Oru Yekkam’, the last song in the album, is a poignant number. Naresh Iyer’s emotionally-charged voice makes the right imression in listeners’ hearts.

G.V. Prakash’s chart-toppers will greatly contirbute for Seval’s success.
